The Polar Museum at the Scott Polar Research Institute holds a unique collection of artefacts, journals, paintings, photographs, clothing equipment, maps and other materials illustrating polar exploration, history and science.

The Polar Museum has also successfully raised the £275,000 needed to be able to purchase 113 historic Antarctic negatives taken by Captain Scott in 1911, thanks to public support.

Opening Times:

Open 10am-4pm Thursday to Saturday, Closed Sunday to Wednesday (please check the website for any late changes). Free admission.

Advance booking is not required.

Location:

Located to the south of the city centre towards the Hills Road end of Lensfield Road.
