Lloyds No 1 is a part of the Wetherspoon chain of bars but they stay open later in the night and usually have a DJ with small dance floor too. As such they tend to have a more clubby feel, rather than a traditional pub.

This Wetherspoon bar was purpose-built as the Regal cinema in 1937. It was then the most up-to-date cinema in Cambridge, 'a veritable palace' as it was dubbed by cinema goers of the 1930s. Finally closing as the ABC cinema in 1999, a cinema situated above the bar has now re-opened called the Arts Picturehouse.
