Annual LGBT festival in Cardiff's Civic Centre with a parade through the city centre on the Saturday and music stage and fun fair outside the City Hall all weekend. Partying continues afterwards into the night on the city's Churchill Way.
Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend is a mega-mashup of Pride and Cardiff’s Big Weekend which was last held in 2011.
The first ever Cardiff Mardi Gras event took place on Saturday 4 September 1999, with over 5,000 people gathered in Bute Park for the city festival. The event coincided with a conference on hate crime, which urged the LGBT community to report crime to the police. Over the years it has grown in size, introducing an admission charge, missing a year, changing the date and even an ill judged change of venue to the Millennium Stadium in 2013.
