Commercial Shopping Centre: City Centre (Market Square)
St Tibbs Row, Cambridge. CB2 3NA • (01223) 350608
The Lion Yard is a modern shopping mall dating from the 1970s when the area was redeveloped. Rather ugly from the outside, it has mainly national chain shops inside. It is right in the centre of the city, next to St Andrew's Church and Market Square.
The main shopping mall is all on one level with shops also on Petty Curry itself. For many years a central feature of the atrium was a large white pillar with the statue of a large red lion on the top of it which recalled the Red Lion pub which had previously occupied the site until it was demolished. The centre also links into the Grand Arcade shopping centre next door.
No easily accessible wifi. No smoking.
Open 9am-6pm Monday to Saturday, 11am-5pm Sunday (please check the website for any late changes). Many shops close at 5.30pm during the week.
Located in the city centre with entrances on Petty Curry, St Andrew's Church, Corn Exchange Street and Grand Arcade.
Cambridge railway station: 20 minutes walk.
Parking available nearby - payment required.
