Cambridge Chauffeur Punts was founded in 1993. Since then they have built up to a fleet of 29 punts some of which are double punts, designed for taking groups such as school parties and conference groups of up to 130 people. Customers can choose from taking a tour with a chauffeur guide or punting themselves.
The popular choice for tourists in Cambridge is the Backs Tour which is a return trip on the River Cam between Silver Street and Magdalene Street bridges on a traditional punt. This gives a fairly good view of the private buildings, bridges (including the Bridge of Sighs at St John's) and gardens of the University.
