Transport for Wales Rail
47 Penarth Road, Cardiff. CF10 5DJ • 03333 211202
Transport for Wales Rail is the new operator that provides local rail services in Wales including Cardiff, Swansea, Aberystwyth, Shrewsbury, Chester, the Valley Lines network north of Cardiff and the long distance routes between Swansea and Manchester/North Wales and Birmingham to Aberystwyth.
Most of its trains are old diesel rail-cars. Commuter trains during the early morning and late afternoon are extremely busy, can run over 30 minutes late and are best avoided. It's usually quicker and safer for connections to walk between Cathays/Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Central instead of relying on this operator. You cannot use the cheaper 'off peak' fares on some of these services early mornings and late afternoon.
Refreshments available. Public toilets available.
No easily accessible wifi. No smoking.
For wheelchair users, help will be needed to board trains as ramps are required. Go to the Customer Services desk for assistance.
